First impressions: beautiful place! Large dining room with beautiful furniture and a large chalk board wall with daily specials. I ordered to go and it took them under 10mins! The chicken quesadilla with beans, rice, fresh chips and fresh salsa was A M A Z I N G !!!!!! The portion size was so big I ate it for 2 days! The price was reasonable and they have plenty of parking and great hours. I can't wait to go back and try the tacos next time!

Not a lot of atmosphere but the food is really good. Prices are reasonable and the staff is accommodating. My local go to for mexican.

10/14/2018: Wife and i enjoyed dinner at Tenampa this evening. Soups were quite good. Their black bean was quite flavorful with the chopped onion. Both of us had the Frijita Maya special. While not spicy hot, its flavor was strong. Portions were large enough to order just one. Surprised about the dinner bill: $66.10 without tip. This is a BYOB restaurant. Regardless, food is good, portions large and service excellent. I would go there again. ed

The food was pretty good, I liked the chips and salsa. I would go again. I got the tri color burritos with 3 different fillings and sauces. My father is a vegetarian and he got the cheese enchiladas.

Very disappointed. Food very so so. Ordered chicken fajitas for take out. Didn’t recognize the dish and no fajitas. Will not go back and do not recommend.

Authentic Mexican restaurant with great, fresh guacamole! It is barely seen from Rt. 9, but definitely worth the stop.

very disappointed.... me and my girlfriend came here because we saw the reviews are pretty good. sadly we got the exact oppisite of what we expected. the staff was boring and unfriendly. the food was overpriced and the red sauce tastes exactly like spaghetti sauce. the chips were cold and stale and the only thing that made it taste acceptable was the salsa. the water even tasted like it was from the tap. very very sad with this place. me and my girlfriend both agreed that moes or chipotle would of been a better option then here....

We enjoy stopping into Tenampa when we are in the area. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. If you enjoy Mexican fare, be sure to check it out!

With so many Mexican options in NJ i cant imagine why someone would come here and pay 20 dollars for a Chimicanga. Iced tea is like 3 dollars a glass. They CHARGE for the free chips they put on the table. If you're gonna charge, at least ask if we want it. Oh wrll, you live and you learn. Ill have no problem getting the same quality food and friendlier service at any of the 20 mexican restaraunts within a 5 mile radius.

Worth the ride from Mercer County. Great staff, warm and welcoming. Vast menu and fabulous specials.

Best Mexican food around. Nice atmosphere, good service. Food is presented beautifully and tastes delicious. Creative specials. Tonight we had Asian chicken dumplings in an amazing creamy Mexican sauce. The Carne Asada is the best you will find in the area. It's BYOB and the food is reasonably priced so the bill is always less than you think it will be.

I got the tacos mexicanos and they where okay. The tortillas weren't crazy good but the creamy Chipotle sauce was a hit.

Delicious. The fella had stuffed jalapenos. I had the shrimp diablo. Everything was excellent.

We went on a Thursday evening and it was empty. The chips would have been better if heated so that they were lighter and crispier. The food overall was good, not great, but the prices were ridiculous. We are talking Disney World prices for Mexican food. $17 for a taco salad?! Decor appeared run down, paint chipping. Probably won't return.

One of Ocean County best kept secrets for Mexican food. You must try the chimichanga with the jalapeno sauce. Service is always good they open at 4.

Had one okay dish out of four. Had take out order, not impressed. Taco salad with steak, was such a small salad, lousy tough meat for 16.95, total rip off. Surf Taco taco salad puts this to shame. This place sucks, never again, and I tipped their nicely for take out.

Quaint place in toms river right by the home depot. Easily accessible off exit 82 in the small shopping plaza. We went with 6 people, and service was okay. Food was delicious, and the menu had something for everyone. Even the kids. The drinks are not fountain, they are from cans if it is soda and bottles if it is Mexican soda. Portions are nice, we even took left overs. Be prepared to spend an average of $15 per person without tip.
